With Seed and Series A fundraising rounds completed and nearly 2m subscribers this company has an exciting growth plan. It’s now looking for an Onboarding & Customer Due Diligence Team Lead to build and manage a team of Analysts and Associates executing all customer onboarding, Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD).
The Onboarding & Customer Due Diligence Team Lead, who will reporting into the VP Onboarding & Customer Due Diligence, will ensure that all aspects of business as usual client onboarding are robust, scalable and compliant with regulatory standards, balancing a customer-first approach with regulatory requirements and ensuring both compliance and a seamless user experience.
This role will be New York tristate (NY, NJ, CT) based starting WFH but transitioning to hybrid at a future point in time.

🧩 How will you spend your time at work?
· Manage the integration of industry-leading KYC and onboarding tools to enhance compliance, streamline processes, and improve scalability.
· Collaborate with VP Onboarding & Customer Due Diligence to continuously refine onboarding, KYC and CDD processes and ensure these processes align with regulatory frameworks such as AML, CTF and global data privacy standards etc.
· Manage the business as usual onboarding and due diligence processes, overseeing the team responsible for reviewing customer documentation, conducting identity verification and performing EDD for high-risk customers.
· Ensure the onboarding team is fully trained on the latest compliance protocols, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
· Manager team KPIs and SLAs for onboarding processes to maintain both regulatory compliance and high-quality customer experiences.
· Ensure operations are aligned with all internal onboarding and KYC policies, procedures and workflows.
· Ensure policies are kept up to date with evolving regulatory requirements.
· Review onboarding policies and procedures to identify areas for improvement and ensure the highest standards of compliance.
· Manage risks associated with customer onboarding, including the management of politically exposed persons (PEPs) and high-risk individuals.
· Oversee the handling of customer escalations from Analyst and Associates.
· Ensure timely reporting of suspicious activities.
· Regularly report onboarding and KYC metrics, trends, and findings to VP Onboarding & Customer Due Diligence.
· Develop and maintain robust onboarding reports that highlight performance, regulatory adherence and operational efficiency.
· Continuously assess and improve onboarding workflows to enhance efficiency.
⭐ Here’s what you’ll bring to this Onboarding & Customer Due Diligence Team Lead role in New York;
· Proven experience in leading customer onboarding, KYC and DD teams, particularly within the crypto, fintech, or financial services industries.
· Demonstrated success in implementing and optimizing KYC tools and processes.
· Strong team leadership skills with experience managing teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance regulatory compliance with delivering a positive customer experience.
· Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and presenting complex compliance matters to senior management and external stakeholders.
· Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in compliance processes, policy development, and regulatory reporting.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
