Candidate Safety: Recruitment Guidance

RecruitBlock is an executive search and leadership advisory partner. Trust, discretion and process integrity are central to how we work.
This page sets out how to recognise suspicious approaches, how RecruitBlock communicates with candidates, and how to verify any contact claiming to represent RecruitBlock.

If you are unsure whether an approach is genuine, pause and verify before sharing personal information or progressing the conversation.

Common indicators of a suspicious approach

Fraudulent approaches vary, but credible executive search outreach is typically structured and verification-led.
Be cautious if any of the following occur:

  • Requests for money or fees at any stage (administration, accreditation, training, equipment, onboarding charges).
  • Pressure tactics such as deadlines to respond, secrecy demands, or “limited-time” claims.
  • Unclear role definition, vague scope, or details that do not align with market norms for senior hiring.
  • Immediate channel switching to messaging apps, or avoidance of normal professional verification.
  • Early requests for sensitive personal information (ID documents, NI number, proof of address, banking details).
  • Lookalike contact details such as misspelt domains, unusual URLs, or inconsistent profiles.

How RecruitBlock communicates in recruitment and executive search

  • RecruitBlock does not ask candidates to pay fees to access opportunities or progress a process.
  • RecruitBlock does not request banking or payment details via messaging apps.
  • RecruitBlock does not ask for passwords, one-time codes, or security credentials.
  • Where documentation is required later in a process, it is handled through appropriate secure channels and only after verification.

What to do if you suspect fraud

  1. Stop and preserve evidence. Save screenshots, email addresses, phone numbers, profiles, URLs and any payment requests.
  2. Do not share personal information (ID documents, NI number, proof of address, bank details) until you have verified the contact.
  3. Do not click unexpected links or open attachments if anything feels unusual.
  4. Verify directly with RecruitBlock using our official contact route below.

If you believe you have lost money or shared sensitive information, you should also contact your bank immediately and report the incident via official fraud reporting channels.
