RecruitBlock is partnering exclusively with an established FinTech innovator looking to recruit a experienced MLRO in Gibraltar.
Our client is a leading infrastructure and liquidity provider that enables institutional and enterprise use-cases for digital assets. Their pioneering platform enables a broad range of financial services for an international customer base. With a ‘regulated first’ approach in North America they will be registering as a VASP with the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) as the first-step of their regulatory approach in Gibraltar.
As MLRO in Gibraltar you’ll be responsible for the Gibraltar entity’s AML regulatory and compliance approval and framework implementation and will play a key role in progressing the registration with the GFSC (Gibraltar Financial Services Commission) to become a registered VASP.
You’ll provide guidance to the business from a regulatory and compliance perspective, owning AML regulatory policies and reporting, working closely with internal overseas stakeholders and local external stakeholders to ensure ML systems, process, policies and procedures conform to relevant regulatory requirements.
There is an opportunity for this role to have reduced hours at the beginning, with a transition to full-time hours in line with business requirements as mutually agreed.

Role
✔ Act as an Approved Person with the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC).
✔ Develop and maintain the firm’s AML and CTF policy in line with VASP regulatory requirements.
✔ Establish and maintain appropriate risk-based monitoring processes that are proportionate to the scale, nature and complexity of the business’s operations.
✔ Regularly review the effectiveness of AML compliance policies and procedures to prevent ML and CFT.
✔ Ensure timely investigation of all SARs.
✔ Provide timely response to any reasonable request for information from the regulator and/or law enforcement agencies.
Skills
✔ Proven experience as an AML, financial crime or compliance professional within financial services.
✔ Ability to build working relationships with the GFSC and law enforcement agencies.
✔ Knowledge of Gibraltar’s VASP registration environment advantageous.
✔ Previous Approved Person status with the GFSC desirable.
✔ Experienced in building, documenting and monitoring AML, PEP, CTF policies, processes and procedures.
✔ A track record of working in dynamic regulated fintech.
✔ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
✔ Able to operate as a key member of an international team.
✔ Willing to flex working hours to the requirements of the business.
✔ This role may suit a candidate open to considering reduced hours / part time / part time to full time employment.
