This innovative start-up is in the late stages of its regulatory application with the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) and is looking to expand its team.

Key Responsibilities of the MLRO
-
Act as an Approved Person by the GFSC in Gibraltar.
Design, monitor, and manage the firm’s AML and CTF policies and procedures in line with current and evolving statutory and regulatory obligations.
Establish and maintain appropriate systems and controls to prevent and detect money laundering and terrorist financing.
Ensure the ongoing effectiveness of money laundering compliance policies and procedures.
Report any knowledge or suspicion of money laundering or terrorist financing to the Gibraltar Financial Intelligence Unit (GFIU).
Ensure all internal suspicious activity reports are investigated promptly and that suspicious transactions or activities are reported to the relevant authorities.
Conduct risk assessments and customer due diligence measures.
Educate, train, and support staff on AML matters.
Provide management information and reporting to the senior management team.
Strong communication skills to cooperate with and support team members in a small team environment.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
-
Proven experience as an AML specialist / MLRO within the Financial Services/FinTech sector
Previous approval by the GFSC is desirable
Working knowledge of GFSC e-money/payments regulatory environment is helpful
Experience in building successful working relationships with the GFSC and Gibraltar law enforcement agencies
Experience in external and internal AML reporting
Ability to understand AML complexities and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders
Analytical mind with the ability to work to short timelines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to operate effectively as part of an international start-up team
UK or EEA passport holder
