Where? London
All 11 FinTech companies are based in London, which continues to be the focal region for tech companies. In 2020 a total of 62 firms were based in the London region. This represents more than double the number of London based companies who appeared in the inaugural 2001 Tech Track 100.
Diversity
In a year when diversity within the technology industry has fallen under the spotlight, only 9 companies are run or founded by women. This represents a lower number than in 2019 (10), 2018 (11) and 2017 (10). Companies founded and run by BAME entrepreneurs number 7. There are no black entrepreneurs featured at all in 2020.
