Chief Operating Officer

RecruitBlock are seeking a Chief Operating Officer for a leading Gibraltar regulated FinTech with a proven track record in e-money products and payment services, which has recently expanded its banking product range to offer digital corporate banking services. As Chief Operating Officer you will operate as the business leader for all areas of operations of the Bank, focusing on both the issuance of core banking products and e-Money and payments.

This role is office based in Gibraltar with office based working.

🧩 How will you spend your time at work?

· Responsible for the operational strategy of the Bank advising the Board and Senior Management Team on all matters related to Clients, operational processes and policies.

· Assist the MD to execute the Boards strategy including development and implement the Bank’s strategic vision and long-term plans.

· Develop and implement procedures and business plans to enhance growth.

· Management of the Client Relationships, E-Money and Bank Operations teams including primary point of escalation.

· Ensure operational compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

· Work closely with cross functional stakeholder on the development of the Bank’s product offering and enhanced functionality.

· Assist the MD with marketing strategies and development of marketing tools, systems and execution of campaigns.

· Plan and manage the day-to-day running of the Banks’ operations to meet Client expectations ensuring SLA’s are adhered to.

· Work with Technology team within the Bank on technology synergies and upgrades.

· Oversee the leading of multiple projects simultaneously.

· Work with stakeholder to establish robust Business Continuity processes and procedures.

· Lead the relationships with Mastercard, Visa, processors and card manufacturers.

· Work closely with the Compliance, Technology and Finance departments to ensure a consistent operational approach.

· Report and present updates to Board of Directors.

· Managerial experience at a senior level.

· Self starter, with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively.

· Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and budgets.

· Comprehensive knowledge of the Mastercard and Visa products and processes.

· Understanding and experience of European and UK banking regulations

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to break down complex ideas and technical language for a non-subject matter expert.

· Good understanding of the regulatory environment in financial services.

· Develop rapport and build strong relationships with different functions.

· Familiarity with projects and the full lifecycle.

· Ability to use initiative and steer/influence discussions.

· Strategic thinker with an analytical mind and strong problem-solving skill.

· Good decision making capabilities with a pragmatic approach.
