As UK General Manager you’ll need to think big about the future of crypto and how you can bring individual investors and institutions into the crypto economy more quickly. Working closely with local and global stakeholders in product, operations, BD, marketing, legal and compliance you’ll ensure a smooth and efficient business operation that delivers best-in-industry service to customers. You’ll lead the UK team, driving the expansion of the UK business.
You’ll need to be able to adapt and adjust plans on-the-go, always balancing customer needs with business priorities and demonstrating a clear rationale behind decisions.
This role will require a minimum 3 days per week work from the London office base.
Role
✔ Be a strategic partner of the global senior management team, having responsibility for managing UK operations and driving UK business growth.
✔ Partner with UK compliance and legal team to support license maintenance with the FCA and drive business operations.
✔ Work with business, legal and compliance leaders in other European jurisdictions to support other license applications in the region.
✔ Obtain and maintain necessary licenses to operate the business in the UK.
✔ Establish local on-ramps and local banking relationships to enable UK customers to access services.
✔ Work with BD team and finance team to continue to develop banking and PSP relationships in the UK.
✔ Represent the company as an ambassador at media engagements, conferences, industry forums, networking events and in all interactions with local clients.
✔ Work with UK local operations, HR and administration teams to ensure proper cross-functional collaboration and conduct timely review of business results.
Skills
✔ Strong proven experience in managing business operations for a financial services or FinTech company (ideally as a Managing Director, General Manager or COO).
✔ Excellent understanding of how the various functions of a regulated financial services business operate.
✔ Cross functional expertise and the ability to implement global standards while ensuring local compliance.
✔ Great communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an international organization.
✔ Good understanding of the UK regulatory landscape for financial services and related requirements.
✔ Result-driven, self-starter, motivated by the opportunity to grow a business in a fast-paced, growth driven sector.
✔ Recent crypto exposure and a keen interest in crypto very desirable.
✔ Expertise in blockchain and cryptocurrency landscape beneficial (speculators, traders, digital asset exchanges, blockchain money services businesses and financial institutions).
✔ A history and preference for being strategic, analytical and execution-oriented.
✔ UK citizen with current right to work in UK (sponsorship is not offered).
