As Head of Compliance you’ll lead and have responsibility for building out key aspects of the UK compliance program whilst continuously monitoring UK compliance and regulatory developments.

You’ll need to demonstrate strong leadership and sound technical competencies, handling complex matters and working with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally.

This role will require a minimum 3 days per week work from the London office base.

Role

✔ Lead strategic UK direction, training and advisory support with regards to Compliance.

✔ Develop and maintain robust compliance policies, procedures, controls and frameworks.

✔ Act as Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), submit suspicious activity reports to supervisory authorities, review suspicious fact and transaction monitoring patterns to make relevant determinations.

✔ Conduct firm dealings with regulators including the FCA and NCA.

✔ Engage cross-functionally to implement an effective compliance management program in line with the global standards and industry best practices.

✔ Monitor and assess compliance with UK laws, regulations and policies, particularly in regard to AML, CTF, CPF and sanctions.

✔ Oversee annual, periodic and on-demand compliance reviews and investigations, annual policy updates/refreshes and AML/CTF risk assessment updates.

✔ Prepare Compliance reports to Board and board sub-committees and participate in committees as a member or on an as-needed basis.

✔ Conduct and oversee company training.

✔ Act as first point of contact for business team members in compliance issues and advise accordingly.

✔ Build-out, coach and mentor a team in line with business requirements.

Skills

✔ Strong proven experience in a senior compliance position within financial services, FinTech or crypto industries.

✔ Previous experience as an FCA-approved Compliance Officer/CCO/Head of Compliance/ MLRO in a banking, payments/e-money and/or crypto firm.

✔ Experience of overseeing an effective compliance management program in line with UK standards, coupled with awareness of local and international industry best practices.

✔ Knowledge of and passion for crypto, as well as the relevant risks, preferably through previous companies/roles.

✔ Working knowledge and experience of developing compliance policies to ensure compliance with FATF and JMLSG Guidance, UK GDPR, DPA 2018, MLR 2017, Terrorism Act 2000, Sanctions Act 2018 and other relevant AML/CFT/CPF and sanctions regulations.

✔ Strong leadership and people management skills.

✔ Self-motivated, critical thinker, able to work independently and in decentralised team environments. covering multiple and varied tasks.

✔ Intuitive, highly ethical and comfortable questioning and challenging.

✔ Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

✔ UK citizen with current right to work in UK (sponsorship is not offered).
