RecruitBlock is partnering exclusively with an established fintech group whose portfolio includes a range of financial products and services across payments, cards, and wallets. They are currently pursuing EMI regulatory approval in Gibraltar for their innovative in-house developed finance-first platform that merges accounting and banking to simplify and accelerate global team payments, payroll, and contractor payments.

Role Mission
As Head of Compliance & MLRO, you will lead the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) regulatory process, developing and embedding a robust compliance and AML infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure regulatory adherence while supporting the company’s ambitious growth in the fintech and payments sector.
Key Responsibilities
· Act as an Approved Person with the GFSC in Gibraltar.
· Lead the development and maintenance of robust compliance policies, procedures, controls, and frameworks.
· Design, monitor, and manage the firm’s AML and CTF policies aligned with evolving statutory and regulatory requirements.
· Collaborate cross-functionally to implement an effective compliance management program adhering to global standards and industry best practices.
· Monitor ongoing compliance with Gibraltar’s financial regulations, focusing on AML and payments sector obligations.
· Serve as the primary compliance advisor for Gibraltar-based teams.
· Oversee compliance reviews, investigations, and regulatory reporting.
· Participate in relevant internal and external meetings regarding compliance matters.
Must-Have Experience
· Extensive experience in regulatory compliance and AML within financial services, payments, fintech, or cryptocurrency sectors.
· Proven track record as a Head of Compliance or MLRO overseeing effective AML programs in line with GFSC standards.
· Experience as a GFSC regulated Approved Person, preferably in banking, payments, or crypto firms.
· In-depth knowledge of compliance frameworks under GFSC regulations, including EMI, DLT, or VASP licensing.
· Ability to operate effectively under tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
· Self-driven, highly ethical, and comfortable challenging processes constructively.
· Experience working independently and collaboratively in dispersed teams.
