RecruitBlock is an executive search firm advising boards, founders and senior leadership teams on senior, non-technical leadership appointments within regulated and complex operating environments. We are advising a Gibraltar-based professional services group on the appointment of an experienced Human Resources Manager, working closely with the Chief Operating Officer to support people governance and operational delivery.
This appointment sits within a multi-entity professional services group supporting international clients in regulated and complex operating environments.
The Appointment
Reporting directly to the COO, with regular exposure to senior leadership, this is a hands-on Human Resources Manager appointment with responsibility for the delivery of a comprehensive HR and payroll service across the organisation.
The role has a clear operational mandate, while also supporting more complex and sensitive people matters in close partnership with the COO.
Role Overview
Working closely with the COO, the Human Resources Manager will lead across employee relations, HR policy, performance management, resourcing, payroll processing and HR systems, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and payroll regulations.
This role requires a confident HR professional who is comfortable operating close to the business and taking ownership of day-to-day people operations within a regulated environment.
Leadership Coverage
· Deliver end-to-end HR and payroll support across the organisation
· Advise managers and employees on HR policies, employment law and best practice
· Manage employee relations matters including performance, absence, disciplinary and grievance, escalating complex issues to the COO
· Oversee resourcing from role design through to selection, onboarding and induction
· Own onboarding, probation, offboarding and exit processes
· Manage monthly payroll processing and benefits administration, including pensions
· Lead performance review cycles and support learning and development initiatives
· Maintain HR systems and produce accurate management information and reporting
· Support salary review processes and contribute to HR budget management
Experience Required
Essential
· Proven experience in a generalist HR role, with HR Manager-level experience (title flexible)
· Strong working knowledge of employment law and payroll legislation
· Experience managing employee relations cases end to end
· Confident communicator, able to build effective relationships across the organisation
· Strong organisational capability with high attention to detail
· Experience using HR systems and producing management information
Desirable
· CIPD Level 5 or above
· Experience processing payroll and administering employee benefits
· Exposure to graduate or early-career development programmes
