RecruitBlock are recruiting an Lead Software Engineer for an international crypto leader who specialise in building enterprise crypto treasury management solutions.
This Málaga based blockchain company enables companies to integrate digital assets into the treasury, payroll and financial operations.
As Lead Software Engineer you will work in a high velocity, high impact environment and cultivate a growing team of bright, passionate engineers. You’ll have a crucial role within the development team and will focus on clearing technical issues that may impact the delivery and support of product.
There will be split responsibilities with up to 70% of your time spent on non-coding tasks and the remaining time dedicated to hands-on coding, maintaining and developing scalable solutions. The role can be based either full-time in Málaga office or hybrid with at least 2 on-site days in the Málaga office per week.
Role:
✔ Act as a proxy between architecture, PO and development team (Backend and Frontend engineers).
✔ Define and help define technical features and technical split of development tasks.
✔ Coordinate and ensure development tasks are carried out to plan.
✔ Work with Product and Architecture in the pre-refinement of tickets before being presented to the rest of the team.
✔ Support Architecture in keeping solutions in line with the product’s architecture.
✔ Support Product Owner with analysis and understanding of the product’s technical aspects.
✔ Propose and define technical product improvements of existing features.
✔ Work with Delivery Lead and help oversee the lifecycle of each feature.
✔ Ensure developers have full ownership of every feature from development to production and provide guidance.
✔ Work with delivery leads to maintain a global view of delivery activities, liaise across pods and with other teams.
✔ Provide support and guidance for troubleshooting development, testing and production issues.
✔ Ensure production support is provided correctly and help with continuous improvements.
✔ Provide mentoring to newcomers and junior/middle developers.
✔ Promote and lead when required, knowledge sharing within the team and with other teams.
✔ Provide 24 hour on-call support during 1 week every 2 months.
Skills:
✔ Strong proven experience as Backend Engineer and at least 1-2 years leading development teams.
✔ A pragmatic attitude and approach to solving problems.
✔ Strong knowledge in Java (minimum Java 8).
✔ Excellent knowledge in testing frameworks: JUnit, Spock, Mockito.
✔ Experience with a range of Java libraries and frameworks, for example Spring Boot, JPA, etc.
✔ Experience with relational and NoSQL databases as well as REST Web Services.
✔ Experience of microservices architecture (development and testing).
✔ Experience with messaging frameworks and EDA.
✔ A pragmatic attitude and approach to solving problems.
✔ Proactive, go for attitude and unlimited creativity.
✔ Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, learn new technologies, and programming languages.
✔ Passion for cryptocurrencies / blockchain a bonus.
✔ Fluent written and spoken English.
