The RecruitBlock team is looking for a Lawyer for one of the biggest crypto-native algorithmic trading companies. The innovator provides liquidity algorithmically across most cryptocurrency exchanges and trading platforms, OTC trading solutions, and support for high profile blockchain projects and traditional financial institutions moving into crypto.
With a focus on commercial and regulatory aspects, the role covers UK jurisdiction all products, and relevant areas of law. You’ll work closely with the rest of the legal team and the businesses: traders, business development, product, operations. You’ll also work with the senior leadership team, like the CEO, COO, etc.
Work from home and flexible hours are part of this London-based job, but it’s not totally remote.

🧩 How will you spend your time at work?
· Draft and negotiate legal-commercial agreements for our business lines (OTC spot, liquidity provision, derivatives documentation, trading agreements, software agreements, etc.)
· Work closely with the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel to monitor legal and regulatory landscapes across jurisdictions; support financial regulatory compliance under UK regulatory regime, providing advice and support regarding legal guidance for decentralized finance and protocols.
· Support and manage corporate structure and governance.
· Provide assistance to the legal team and business in resolving commercial disputes efficiently while protecting the company’s interests.
Manage external counsel as necessary, including employment law, etc.
⭐ Here’s what you’ll bring to this Legal role;
· Experience practicing law (qualified) at a top-tier firm or as in-house counsel for a firm specializing in fintech, financial services, and/or crypto (5yrs +)
· Previous experience working in a high-performance, dynamic, high-growth environment is preferred; self-motivation is key.
· Strong understanding of financial services contracts, trading agreements, derivatives documentation, and others (OTC, structured products, lending agreements, etc.)
· Knowledge of proprietary trading, financial services, and crypto in the UK.
· Crypto industry experience, such as types of tokens, token governance, DAOs, blockchain foundations, and decentralized organizations.
· Commercial litigation or dispute resolution experience.
· Passionate about algorithmic trading and decentralized finance.
· Willingness to learn other areas of law and business quickly.
🤝 Interview process
· Interview with our Talent Acquisition Specialist (30 min).
· Interview with the COO (60 minutes).
· Final interview with CEO (60 min).
