Legal Counsel

RecruitBlock is looking for a Legal Counsel for a company that offers liquidity across most cryptocurrency exchanges and trading platforms, offers OTC trading solutions, and supports blockchain projects as well as traditional financial institutions entering the crypto world.

As Legal Counsel, you’ll support the OTC derivatives business, which is rapidly growing. We’re looking for someone who has experience in either digital asset markets or traditional financial markets, and can adapt to an entrepreneurial, diverse, highly dynamic business environment, as well as cryptocurrency-specific challenges and opportunities. In this role, you’ll work closely with business (BD and traders), Risk, and other legal team members and you’ll shape the derivatives templates and approaches that effectively balance business growth and risk.

🧩 How will you spend your time at work?

· Defining and negotiating agreements related to our derivatives offerings (ISDA master agreements, schedules, credit support documents, tri-party collateral agreements, long form confirmations, and/or structured product trading agreements); coordinating input and decisions from various stakeholders and completing contracts.

· Consult and negotiate directly with counterparties

·  Research and work with external advisors to define the regulatory requirements for crypto derivatives in various jurisdictions as needed.

·  Develop a unique derivatives framework (templates, approaches, etc) to meet OTC derivatives needs.

·   Provide business functions and other departments with compliant solutions and advice.

⭐ Here’s what you’ll bring to this Crypto Operations Manager role in London;

· Senior/ Executive experience practicing law (qualified 5+) in the financial services, fintech, or crypto fields at a top-tier law firm or in-house counsel at an organization;

· Experience negotiating ISDA and other OTC derivatives in a high performance setting under tight deadlines, and advising on related regulatory issues related to (crypto-underlying) OTC derivatives

·  Prior experience developing templates, internal guidelines, negotiation approaches, etc.,

·  Expertise in regulatory frameworks in traditional financial markets and how they apply to OTC derivatives.

·  Prior experience with prime brokerage and derivatives.

·  Demonstrated ability to view the big picture and understand commercial strategy.

·  Capacity to apply legal concepts to solve problems, especially in new fields.

· Problem-solving ability and an analytical mind.

·  Exceptional organizational skills.
