The Appointment

We are seeking an experienced Audit Partner or senior audit leader to establish, build and lead the Australian audit entity for a specialist digital asset audit, assurance and attestation practice with leadership connectivity across the US, UK and wider international market.

 

The successful individual will lead the Australian practice across regulatory alignment, audit delivery, operational governance, client development and team build-out, while contributing to the broader evolution of institutional-grade audit, assurance and attestation capability within digital assets and blockchain-native financial services.

 

The role offers strategic influence, leadership ownership and long-term commercial alignment within a market where specialist digital asset audit and attestation capability remains relatively concentrated globally.

The business operates exclusively within digital asset and blockchain-native assurance environments, supporting clients across:

·  Attestation engagements

·  Proof of reserves

·  Reporting frameworks

Scope of Responsibility

 

Leadership & Practice Development

·  Launch and lead the Australian audit entity, including regulatory setup and operational governance

·  Build and scale a high-performing Australian audit and assurance team

·  Support the continued development of audit and attestation methodologies tailored to digital asset and blockchain-native businesses

·  Contribute to thought leadership across digital asset audit, assurance and attestation environments

·  Collaborate with international leadership teams and global partners on cross-border digital asset engagements

 

Client & Engagement Leadership

·  Act as Engagement Partner across cryptocurrency, blockchain and digital asset audit engagements

·  Manage senior client relationships across exchanges, custodians, Web3 businesses and blockchain infrastructure platforms

·  Support financial audit, attestation, proof of reserves and digital asset verification engagements

·  Advise complex, high-growth and internationally operating digital asset organisations

 

Technical Audit & Regulatory Oversight

·  Ensure compliance with AUASB, AASB, IFRS/ISA reporting and Australian regulatory requirements

·  Support audit work involving crypto assets, tokens, smart contracts and blockchain systems

·  Maintain high standards across audit methodology, reporting quality and assurance delivery

 

Candidate Profile

 

Core Requirements

·  Current or recent experience as Audit Partner, Assurance Partner or equivalent senior audit leadership position

·  Eligibility to practice and sign audit opinions in Australia

·  Deep technical audit expertise across Australian regulatory and reporting frameworks

·  Strong grounding across external audit, assurance, financial reporting and audit methodology disciplines

·  Experience leading complex, regulated or high-risk audit engagements

·  Working knowledge of AUASB, AASB, IFRS/ISA reporting and regulatory requirements

·  Understanding of cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, digital assets, tokens, smart contracts and blockchain systems

·  Commercial capability and entrepreneurial mindset to establish, grow and lead an Australian audit practice

·  Experience gained within a Big Four, national or established mid-tier audit firm, or recognised specialist digital asset assurance or attestation environment

·  Ability to operate credibly with founders, boards, institutional stakeholders and senior leadership teams

 

Relevant Backgrounds

·  Auditing cryptocurrency exchanges, custodians or Web3 organisations

·  Building or scaling audit practices, offices or legal entities

·  Advising high-growth or internationally operating businesses

·  Operating within regulated financial services or specialist assurance environments
