RecruitBlock is advising on the appointment of a US Tax Partner for a specialist digital assets professional services firm expanding its presence across key global markets.
Following recent investment, the business is building out a founding US team within an established international platform across tax, audit and advisory.
This is not a traditional lateral Partner move into an existing structure. It is a senior platform-building appointment with responsibility for shaping the firm’s US tax capability within a sector-native digital assets practice.
Platform Context
The firm is exclusively focused on digital assets, with clients across crypto-native businesses, funds, protocols, exchanges, fintech platforms and emerging financial infrastructure.
Unlike traditional firms where digital assets sits inside a broader tax or financial services offering, this platform has been built around the technical, commercial and regulatory complexity of crypto, Web3 and on-chain markets.
The US build-out is a strategic priority and will sit alongside newly appointed senior audit leadership. The Tax Partner will have direct influence over service lines, go-to-market strategy, delivery frameworks, team structure and long-term market positioning.
The business has significant external investment, established international infrastructure and a clear expansion strategy across regulated and regulating jurisdictions.
Role Scope
The US Tax Partner will play a central role in building and scaling the firm’s digital assets tax capability in the United States.
Responsibilities include:
· Advising exchanges, funds, protocols, fintech and digital asset businesses on complex tax matters
· Leading on digital asset taxation frameworks, token classification, cross-border structuring, fund and entity structuring, treasury matters and evolving regulatory requirements
· Designing and scaling the US digital assets tax offering
· Defining service lines, pricing models and delivery frameworks
· Contributing to broader audit and advisory integration
· Originating and developing senior client relationships across crypto-native businesses, funds, asset managers and financial services firms entering digital assets
· Supporting market positioning, thought leadership and commercial growth
· Hiring, developing and leading high-performing teams
· Helping shape a culture aligned to technical excellence, innovation and growth
Executive Profile
We are seeking senior tax leaders with a strong combination of technical credibility, market presence and commercial capability.
Relevant backgrounds include:
· Existing Partner, or Director/Senior Manager ready to step into Partner-level responsibility
· Top 10 accounting or advisory practice with specialist digital assets/crypto tax exposure
· Crypto-native accounting, tax or advisory platform
Candidates should bring deep experience in digital assets and crypto tax, including:
· Digital asset taxation frameworks
· Cross-border structuring
· Fund and entity structures
· Token classification and treatment
· Evolving US and international regulatory environments
The successful individual will also demonstrate:
· Ability to originate and grow senior client relationships
· Commercial judgement and revenue contribution
· Experience shaping service offerings, teams or specialist practices
· Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating in a build environment
