Director, Digital Asset Finance Operations
Location / working model: United States | Remote
About the Organisation
A growing digital-assets business operating across tokenised products, payments and market infrastructure is strengthening its finance operating model. The organisation requires greater integration between Accounting, Treasury, Financial Planning, Product and Operations as transaction volumes, counterparties and reporting obligations develop.
The Appointment
The Director, Digital Assets Finance Operations will take ownership of the processes and controls that sit behind the organisation’s digital-asset activity. This is a cross-functional finance appointment focused on accurate execution, reconciliation, reporting and governance across traditional and blockchain-based systems. The role will help convert a developing operating environment into a scalable institutional finance function.
Key Responsibilities
-
Own the operating framework for digital-asset movements, settlements, balances and financial-control evidence.
Design reliable reconciliation processes across counterparties, custody arrangements, internal records and the general ledger.
Partner with Accounting and Treasury to support accurate close, liquidity planning and position reporting.
Define finance and control requirements for new products before launch, working closely with Product, Legal, Compliance and Operations.
Develop clear approval workflows, segregation of duties, exception management and management information.
Coordinate finance relationships with relevant custodians, banking partners, exchanges and service providers.
Improve systems, data ownership and automation while maintaining an auditable control environment.
Provide concise reporting on positions, flows, exposures and operational risks to senior leadership and governance forums.
Experience and Capability
-
Substantial experience across finance operations, treasury, controllership, accounting or financial transformation.
Direct exposure to digital assets, tokenised products, payments, custody, markets or another transaction-intensive financial environment.
Strong understanding of reconciliations, close processes, balance-sheet control and operational risk.
Experience building scalable processes across several functions rather than operating within a narrow accounting remit.
Confidence working with senior stakeholders, auditors and external counterparties in a controlled environment.
A practical approach to systems and automation, with the ability to improve data quality without weakening accountability.
Leadership and Stakeholder Context
The role will act as the connective finance leader across Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, Product, Operations and Control. It will require influence at executive level and the ability to establish ownership across teams whose responsibilities currently overlap. Team leadership may develop as the operating model scales.
