RecruitBlock is recruiting a Director of Risk & Compliance for a leading international provider of professional business services in Gibraltar.
This Gibraltar based company is a leading international provider of trust, company and legal services in Gibraltar and is seeking a Director of Risk and Compliance to join its established yet dynamic business.
As part of the senior management team, you will provide leadership over regulatory compliance and risk management programs across the group. You will ensure the Group and all individuals within the Group maintain and promote the highest standards of legal and regulatory compliance, advancing and protecting the vital interests and reputation of the business and leading thinking on risk management and legal and regulatory compliance.

Role:
✔ Acting as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer. ✔ Addressing all areas of legal and regulatory compliance. ✔ Ensuring the ongoing development and maintenance of a highly effective compliance framework that is fully embedded across the Group. ✔ Perform ongoing risk assessments and evaluations, analysing risks, identifying and quantifying current and future risks impacting the Group against its risk appetite. ✔ Articulating and translating compliance requirements and internal processes to business/technical requirements and working alongside operational teams to systematically embed these. ✔ Ensuring the Group operates and maintains effective and robust KYC, AML, PFT processes and procedures. ✔ Oversee, plan and implement all recommendations resulting from external audit. ✔ Provide guidance and training in business wide compliance policies and procedures, laws and regulations applicable to the business and raise overall risk awareness within the business. ✔ Act as the Data Protection Privacy Manager. ✔ Design and manage implementation of risk projects to respond to key areas of risk, regulatory developments or other thematic areas of strategic development or re-investment. ✔ Play a key role in the development and delivery of a new compliance outsourcing service. ✔ Draft consultation responses in respect of issues of interest or concern.
Skills:
✔ Previous experience within a similar role within financial or legal services. ✔ Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and codes governing the Financial and Legal Sector. ✔ Deep understanding of Risk and Compliance environment with an established track record of designing and implementing appropriate procedures. ✔ Strong leadership background with proven people management skills. ✔ Analytically minded, able to work methodically and accurately with attention to detail. ✔ Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels. ✔ Ability to plan and lead project teams, determine and mitigate risks. ✔ ICA Diploma or equivalent qualification. ✔ Excellent IT skills, including Excel and good working knowledge of Viewpoint or a similar software
