RecruitBlock are partnering with an international crypto leader with offices in Málaga, Spain, who specialise in building enterprise crypto treasury management solutions. This Málaga blockchain client enables companies to integrate digital assets into their payroll, treasury and financial operations.
As Data Engineer you will drive the business forward from scattered data sources to a reliable source of truth. Retrieving data from different sources and building reliable data pipelines for extracting, transforming, storing and making data accessible will be a key element of the role. You will strive to achieve a shared understanding of the data and implement solid data governance, assuring data quality.

Role
✔ Extract, transform store, and organize key business data assets from different sources using medium-scale batch and real-time data pipelines.
✔ Design, develop, test, and maintain data infrastructure to ensure data is accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
✔ Participate in decision-making on tools and infrastructure.
✔ Assist with data requirements gathering, data-related issues like reducing manual data processing, and ensuring scalability within the infrastructure design.
✔ Collaborate with the Data & Analytics team and business stakeholders to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools and reporting projects, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Skills
✔ Engineer who is equally capable being involved in decision making process as well as hand-on tasks.
✔ Strong experience in developing and maintaining data processing infrastructures.
✔ Experience designing, developing, optimizing, and monitoring ETL pipelines.
✔ ETL tools (e.g., Apache Nifi, Luigi, or similar).
✔ BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or other STEM fields.
✔ Experience manipulating, processing, and extracting structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.
✔ Experience working with relational (Postgres) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases.
✔ Good knowledge of Python.
✔ Familiarity with analytics BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, etc. beneficial.
✔ Experience in preparing data for predictive and prescriptive modeling, monitoring data flow and data provenance advantageous.
✔ Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization and multitasking skills Ability to contribute productively to a fast-paced development team.
✔ Experience working with blockchain (Bitcoin, Ethereum) helpful.
✔ Fluent verbal and written English communication skills.
✔ Passionate about blockchain and crypto with ability to travel to / work from Málaga.
