The role sits close to the core infrastructure of the organisation. It combines AWS ownership, DevOps delivery, Snowflake governance, observability, secure AI tooling and platform reliability.
This is a senior individual contributor appointment for an engineer who can improve systems, support colleagues and raise the technical standard of a growing development function.
The Appointment
The business is moving into a more mature phase of technical delivery. Infrastructure, deployment quality, data platform performance and secure tooling now need clearer ownership.
The appointment will strengthen how cloud infrastructure is managed, how applications and data pipelines are deployed, and how engineering teams work with AWS, Snowflake, Claude Enterprise and observability
tooling.
It is a role for someone who can move between hands-on technical delivery, platform improvement and practical guidance for colleagues across technical and non-technical teams.
The Organisation
The organisation is a specialist digital assets and technology-enabled services business supporting institutional and crypto-native clients across complex blockchain, data and reporting environments.
It operates in a market where technical accuracy, data integrity, security and platform reliability are commercially important. The business has an established operating model, a growing technology function and increasing demand for infrastructure that can support scale, automation and cross-functional delivery.
The environment will suit a senior engineer who is comfortable working across software engineering, data infrastructure, cloud operations and business-facing technical enablement.
The Role
The Senior Software Engineer will own and improve the cloud infrastructure and DevOps foundations that support the wider development team.
Core areas of responsibility include:

· Support the move towards microservices and more flexible cloud architecture.
· Lead infrastructure as code practices in collaboration with senior technical colleagues.
· Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data and application projects, particularly across staging and production.
· Implement and improve monitoring, logging and alerting systems.
· Ensure observability dashboards provide clear visibility of platform health.
· Manage cloud security, IAM policies and compliance-related infrastructure requirements.
· Provide infrastructure support for colleagues working on data pipelines and applications.
· Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment and platform reliability issues.
Data Platform & Snowflake
· Take ownership of Snowflake, including access controls, RBAC, warehouse management, cost governance, query performance and data organisation.
· Support reliable data pipeline infrastructure for internal engineering and operational teams.
· Provide templates, guidance and technical patterns that improve deployment quality.
· Work with colleagues to translate infrastructure requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
Claude Enterprise, AI Tooling & Secure Enablement
· Support the governance of Claude Enterprise, including usage policies, secure integrations and controlled rollout.
· Contribute to the secure adoption of enterprise AI tooling across engineering and operational workflows.
· Help assess where AI tooling can improve infrastructure operations, observability and delivery quality.
· Support secure usage practices, including integrations and MCP-related workflows where relevant.
· Balance technical innovation with security, governance and business context.
Leadership, Influence and Delivery
The role carries clear influence across the development team. The successful person will help improve engineering discipline through mentorship, review standards and practical technical guidance.
Key expectations include:

· Support colleagues deploying and managing data pipelines and applications.
· Conduct code and infrastructure reviews.
· Share best practices for cloud-native development.
· Contribute to clear technical documentation.
· Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Proactively identify improvements to tooling, process and platform quality.
· Take ownership of improvements through to delivery.
The Required Profile
The successful person is likely to bring:
· 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a significant focus on cloud infrastructure.
· Strong hands-on AWS experience.
· A clear understanding of networking, security and cloud best practice.
· Experience with infrastructure as code tools.
· Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar.

· Experience supporting development teams with infrastructure and deployment needs.
· Knowledge of microservices architecture and serverless patterns.
· Experience working with teams outside software engineering.
· Experience mentoring, supporting or providing technical guidance to mid-level engineers.
· Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
· A pragmatic approach to balancing technical delivery with business needs.
Desirable Experience
Relevant additional experience may include:
· Python for infrastructure automation and tooling.
· Data pipeline infrastructure, ETL workloads or cloud data warehouse environments.
