By offering a Visa-certified, self-custodied debit card connected directly to a hardware crypto wallet instead of a traditional bank account, our client makes the transition from Web2 to Web3 payments easy.

As Backend Developer you’ll be designing and implementing a robust card payment processing system that utilizes blockchain technology to ensure security, transparency, and immutability. Our clients’ payment processing platform will benefit from your knowledge of payment industry standards, regulations, and security practices. Working on cutting-edge projects gives you the chance to lead the development process from concept to completion.

Role

✔ Using blockchain technology, design and implement a robust and scalable card payment processing system. ✔ Integrate with issuing processors, card networks, banks, and merchants using APIs and interfaces ✔ Maintain compliance with relevant payment industry standards, regulations, and security practices ✔ Make sure issuing processors and other third-party services are integrated ✔ Make sure the payment processing system is reliable and accurate by testing and debugging it ✔ Keeping up with the latest advancements in payment technology ✔ Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any payment-related issues or customer inquiries with cross-functional teams ✔ Assist the team with payments by providing technical guidance and expertise ✔ Keep a record of system architecture, design specifications, and development processes for future reference ✔ Provide fast and reliable access to large amounts of transactional data by building and optimizing databases ✔ Monitor, log, and alert the backend infrastructure to make sure it’s running smoothly ✔ Deliver high-quality software with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders

Skills ✔ Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related degree ✔ Have experience developing payment processing systems, in banking, financial services, or payments ✔ Expertise in deploying ISO8583 processing hosts with other payment systems ✔ Understanding of PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliance requirements ✔ Understanding of Visa Token Service (VTS), Visa Developer Center, and Visa Merchant Data Standards ✔ Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES), Mastercard Developers Portal, and Mastercard Merchant Category Codes (MCCs) knowledge ✔ Strong programming skills in Go, JavaScript, and/or Solidity ✔ Develop and integrate APIs for payment gateways, card networks, or financial institutions ✔ Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs for seamless integration with frontend systems ✔ Understanding of cryptographic principles, encryption algorithms, and payment security best practices ✔ Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Nomad, Kubernetes) ✔ Lead projects independently, from concept to execution, ensuring high-quality results ✔ Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with excellent problem-solving skills ✔ Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders ✔ UK citizen with current right to work in UK (sponsorship is not offered).
