We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Business Systems Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of the company’s business systems. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance, stability, and regulatory compliance of the bank’s core banking platform and other key systems.

Key Responsibilities of the Business Systems Manager

System Management: Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the bank’s core banking system and other critical business systems, ensuring they meet stakeholder needs and remain stable. Vendor Relationships: Act as the primary point of contact for system vendors, managing relationships, resolving issues, and overseeing system maintenance and change requests. System Stability: Ensure the systems are functioning optimally, provide troubleshooting and analysis support, and ensure compliance with agreed SLAs. Executive Reporting & Advice: Provide regular updates and strategic advice to the executive team and committees on business systems matters, including system upgrades and business case assessments. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all business systems align with regulatory and operational data reporting requirements. Business Analysis: Lead business analysis efforts, gather requirements, document changes, and engage with vendors to implement system updates and improvements. Project Management: Manage the implementation of new business systems, including planning, testing, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure successful execution. Testing & Support: Develop and execute testing plans for new system deliveries, provide 1st and 2nd level support for ongoing system issues. Process Mapping & Efficiency: Create and maintain detailed process maps for all business systems, identifying and implementing operational efficiencies. Collaboration: Work closely with the IT Manager on access control, user support, and other changes. Collaborate with business teams to develop and improve operational procedures related to business systems.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Experience: You’ll need proven experience in managing business systems within a regulated financial services environment, particularly in banking, payments, or e-money services. Technical Expertise: You’ll have a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, project management, and change control processes. Regulatory Knowledge: You’ll need a strong understanding of the regulatory environment in financial services, especially around core banking systems and compliance requirements. Digital & Cloud Technologies: Exposure to digital and cloud technologies will be highly beneficial. Problem-Solving Skills: You’ll have the ability to analyse complex problems and implement creative, practical solutions. Communication Skills: You’ll need excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical issues to non-technical audiences. Organisational Skills: You’ll need to be highly organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
