We’re recruiting a Chief Financial Officer for an established quant trading firm with offices in several leading international financial hubs including its newly established Gibraltar operation. This innovative company was established 10 years ago to build automated trading systems and is now set to launch a crypto derivatives exchange and a spot crypto exchange.
As a senior manager within the wider business, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the financial operations of the Gibraltar business. As an experienced qualified Chartered Accountant with strong technical accounting skills, you will also be required to bring Director level commercial and operational experience and skills to the business. You’ll ensure the financial strategy of the business is aligned with the wider business through close cooperation at Executive level and that all Financial and Operational aspect of the Gibraltar business are aligned to local statutory and regulatory requirements.

Role
✔ The CFO will have overall ownership and control of company accounting functions. ✔ Establish and implement all relevant financial policies, procedures, systems and controls. ✔ Ensure financial systems are robust, complaint and support current and future business activities. ✔ Actively participate in the development of business strategy, providing financial analysis and guidance on all business activities. ✔ Perform budgeting and forecasting processes. ✔ Ensure that all statutory and regulatory requirements are met. ✔ Ownership of company cash management, capital requirements and capital ratios. ✔ Oversight of all audits and statutory and regulatory reporting. ✔ Management of relationships with professional service providers, regulators, banks and other external parties / suppliers. ✔ Establish and manage relevant local operational and commercial activities of the business.
Skills
✔ Proven experience as a self-motivated Finance Director / CFO in a high paced environment willing to be based in Gibraltar. ✔ Experience in cryptocurrency and / or blockchain desirable. ✔ Successful experience in a Crypto / FinTech start-up desirable. ✔ Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or International equivalent) with deep level of post qualification experience. ✔ Ability to build effective working relationships within a multinational environment. ✔ Proven experience managing relationships with regulators, banks and service providers. ✔ Excellent technical accounting combined with strong commercial and operational awareness. ✔ Organisational and leadership skills. ✔ Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities with the ability to influence stakeholders and outcomes. ✔ Flexible in changing, fast paced online technology environment. ✔ Passionate about technology and innovation.
