Our Gibraltar recruiters are partnering exclusively with a full-featured next-generation asset trading platform, headquartered in Asia. RecruitBlock are seeking an MD for their new Gibraltar operation, which is currently applying for a DLT provider license. Their trading platform provides a single point of access to global financial markets, supporting a range of accounts and digital assets and offering traders a comprehensive and professional trading solution.
As the Managing Director based in Gibraltar you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the operations of the business, executing plans that implement sales, commercial and operational strategies. You’ll oversee the establishment of a local office, guide the business through its GFSC regulatory application to become a DLT provider, ensuring that business operations and all current and future products are aligned to relevant regulatory requirements. You’ll support the wider Group with the development of new product, business development and sales channels.

Role
✔ Act as an Approved Person with the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC). ✔ Establish and lead the Gibraltar office. ✔ Drive day-to-day operations and manage customer facing services and vendors. ✔ Define, implement and constantly improve operational processes, procedures, policies, controls and systems. ✔ Develop strategic commercial and sales relationships, lead and drive growth. ✔ Drive efficiencies in operational setup to ensure success. ✔ Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth. ✔ Full P&L ownership and accountability. ✔ Development of annual business plans, budgets and forecasts. ✔ Manage relationships, communication and reporting to Government and relevant statutory / regulatory bodies. ✔ Report to overseas Board/Leadership team on an ongoing basis. ✔ Recruit, develop and provide leadership and mentorship to the local team, promoting the business culture, values and vision and create talent brand equity.
Skills
✔ A self-motivated leader with proven success in a similar role within a FinTech start-up environment. ✔ Strong leadership, operational and commercial experience in FinTech. ✔ Previous experience of successfully building, managing and developing high-performance teams. ✔ Highly adaptable with a talent for creating commercial opportunities. ✔ Proven ability to maintain business relationships with senior management, regulators, business partners and suppliers. ✔ Experience leading a business through GFSC licensing processes (preferably DLT license). ✔ Ability to understand personalities and characteristics that help create a dynamic organisation. ✔ Able to multitask, prioritize and delegate responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner. ✔ Able to operate as a key member of an international team. ✔ Experience within cryptocurrency / blockchain a bonus.
