RecruitBlock are partnering exclusively with a Middle East based crypto start-up who will be building and launching a crypto exchange. Our client is seeking to become a regulated and licensed operator through the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission’s (GFSC) DLT providers licensing regime.
As MLRO you’ll be responsible for the AML regulatory and compliance approval and framework implementation for the Gibraltar entity. You will play a key role in progressing the application to become licensed as a DLT Provider with the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC)
You’ll provide guidance to the business from a regulatory and compliance perspective, owning AML regulatory policies and reporting related to the Gibraltar entity and will work closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure all current and future systems, process, policies and procedures conform to relevant regulatory requirements.

Role
✔ Act as an Approved Person with the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC).
✔ Develop and maintain the firm’s AML and CTF policy in line with regulatory obligations.
✔ Support and co-ordinate management focus on the money laundering risk in individual business areas.
✔ Establish and maintain appropriate risk-based monitoring processes that are proportionate to the scale, nature and complexity of the business’s operations.
✔ Regularly review the effectiveness of money laundering compliance policies and procedures to prevent ML and CFT.
✔ Ensure all internal SARs received are investigated immediately.
✔ Manage third-party enquiries in relation to money laundering prevention, investigation or compliance.
✔ Provide timely response to any reasonable request for information from the regulator and/or law enforcement agencies.
Skills
✔ Proven experience as an AML, financial crime and Compliance professional within financial services, preferably within a crypto environment.
✔ Demonstrable working knowledge of Gibraltar’s DLT regulatory environment.
✔ Approved Person status with the GFSC advantageous.
✔ Experienced in building, documenting and monitoring AML, PEP, CTF policies, processes and procedures.
✔ Able to understand the complexities of procedures and regulations and simplify issues for others.
✔ A track record in the development of dynamic regulated products and services.
✔ Able to work to short timelines in a fast-paced environment.
✔ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
✔ Able to operate as a key member of an international team.
