Enhanced Due Diligence Team Lead

RecruitBlock is partnering with a blockchain analytics and crypto exchange platform that has seen rapid growth. With Seed and Series A fundraising rounds completed and nearly 2m subscribers this company has an exciting growth plan. It’s now looking for an Enhanced Due Diligence Team Lead to join the Compliance team to play a key role in ensuring that operations align with regulatory standards across Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) compliance. You will work closely with different compliance teams to support the ongoing development of overall compliance infrastructure.

This role will be New York tristate (NY, NJ, CT) based starting WFH but transitioning to hybrid at a future point in time.

🧩 How will you spend your time at work?

· Support the VP in managing the EDD / High-Risk Client program.

· Implement and oversee the EDD monitoring program and standard operating procedures.

· Manage, coach and develop a team responsible for conducting detailed reviews of high-risk customer onboarding documents to ensure compliance with EDD policies.

· Provide strategic support and insights on EDD monitoring and other critical EDD initiatives.

· Work closely with the VP and compliance team to improve EDD workflows and ensure EDD processes remain efficient and compliant.

· Assist in integrating compliance tools and technologies into systems, enhancing the efficiency of EDD workflows.

· Contribute to the development and refinement of EDD compliance policies and procedures.

· Communicate directly with customer and internal teams to resolve EDD compliance-related issues promptly.

· Work cross-functionally with the legal, product, technology and operations teams to ensure a seamless EDD compliance process and to enhance products and systems related to EDD.

· Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in EDD compliance within the crypto and financial services sectors.

· Help maintain accurate and organized compliance records to meet audit and regulatory requirements.

⭐ Here’s what you’ll bring to this EDD Team Lead role in New York;

· Proven experience in an EDD compliance role, preferably within the crypto industry or capital markets.

· Proven experience of EDD (high risk client) onboarding and high-risk jurisdictions and markets.

· Experience managing, coaching and developing a team in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

· Strong interest in blockchain technology, crypto assets and EDD compliance.       

· Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to review complex data and documents efficiently.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a customer-centric approach.

· Self-motivated and eager to take on new challenges in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.

· Proven understanding of EDD regulations relevant to the crypto and financial services sectors.

· Knowledge and experience with implementing customer risk scoring frameworks

· Ability to handle shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
