KYC Team Leader

RecruitBlock is partnering with a blockchain analytics and crypto exchange platform that has seen rapid growth. With Seed and Series A fundraising rounds completed and nearly 2m subscribers this company has an exciting growth plan. It’s now looking for a KYC Team Lead to join the Compliance team to play a key role in ensuring that operations align with regulatory standards across Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance. You will work closely with different compliance teams to support the ongoing development of overall compliance infrastructure.

This role will be New York tristate (NY, NJ, CT) based starting WFH but transitioning to hybrid at a future point in time.

🧩 How will you spend your time at work?

· Support the VP in managing the KYC program.

· Implement and oversee the KYC program and standard operating procedures.

· Manage, coach and develop a team responsible for conducting detailed reviews of customer onboarding documents and identity verification checks to ensure compliance with KYC policies.

· Collaborate with enhanced due diligence (EDD) colleagues for high-risk customers.

· Work closely with the VP and compliance team to improve KYC onboarding workflows, mitigate KYC alerts, and ensure KYC processes remain efficient and compliant.

· Assist in integrating compliance tools and technologies into systems, enhancing the efficiency of KYC workflows.

· Contribute to the development and refinement of KYC compliance policies and procedures.

· Communicate directly with stakeholders and internal teams to ensure onboarding and compliance-related issues are resolved promptly.

· Work cross-functionally with the legal, product, technology and operations teams to ensure a seamless KYC compliance process.

· Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in KYC within the crypto and financial services sectors and ensure an updated KYC workflow is in place to fulfill regulatory requirements.

· Help maintain accurate and organized compliance records to meet audit and regulatory requirements.

⭐ Here’s what you’ll bring to this KYC Team Lead role in New York;

· Proven experience in a KYC compliance role, preferably within the crypto industry or capital markets.

· Proven experience developing and building out efficient KYC and CDD onboarding program.

· Experience managing, coaching and developing a team in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

· Strong interest in blockchain technology, crypto assets and KYC compliance.       

· Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to review complex data and documents efficiently.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a customer-centric approach.

· Self-motivated and eager to take on new challenges in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.

· Proven understanding of KYC regulations relevant to the crypto and financial services sectors.

· Ability to handle shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
